RESURRECTION CELEBRATION 2013

  
   At 8:30 am, 10:30 am & 12:30 pm in the SGT Fellowship Center, our children's ministry hosted it's annual Resurrection Celebration. This year we repeated a program we hosted last year called "Walk through the Bible." After awesome worship led by Bruce Rose and a visit by

Grandpa Lou, our kids traveled through the bible and visited Mary & Joseph, the Disciples, a Pharisee and a Roman Soldier. Pastor Dave ended the program with a message about sin and the cross that Jesus was nailed to. He died for the sins of the world! There were a total of 150 children between the 3 services. As the kids left they were given a bracelet, some candy and a big smile. What a great day of ministry!

PRESCHOOL EASTER EGG HUNT - Saturday, March 23 2013

  

   It was a beautiful day!! Maybe a slight chill in the air but that didn't stop our preschoolers from coming out to our annual egg hunt. This year we added a petting zoo complete with goats, sheep, a donkey, chickens and ducks. Our preschoolers loved feeding the animals big time. Then it was time for our hunt. Each preschooler had a basket and collected eggs that were hidden in our playground. Last but not least we had a brief program in the auditorium which featured a story, the resurrection eggs and a visit by Sonkist. It was a great morning and next year it will be in April!!!

RANGER DERBY - March 16 2013

   On Saturday, March 16th our Royal Rangers ministries along with the Missionettes and Rainbows hosted their first annual Ranger Derby! All kids worked very hard on making a car out of pinewood (that had to weigh 5.6 ounces or less to qualify). The event began at 5 pm (and there was a great turnout in spite of snow that only stuck to the grass and not the streets!). Our color guard led us in our pledges and then Maureen Arasmo, our Missionettes Director shared an awesome devotional to kick off our night. Then...the racing began with many cars to race which included the Rainbows, Missionettes, Royal Rangers, an adult category and a "vintage" category (cars that raced in previous years). Everyone had loads of fun and great fellowship was had by all!!!

SPRING TRAINING: TRAIN YOURSELVES TO BE GODLY

 
   From February 27 to March 27 our Middlers & Preteens began a program called "Spring Training: Train yourselves to be godly" based on the scripture in 1 Timothy 4:7. To kick off our program, we invited Rev. Dorsey Ross to come and share with our kids about bullying. How it affects us as well as how we need to respond. Dorsey shared about his experiences and how he was bullied in school as well as his testimony of how he came to know Jesus and how he beat all odds by attending college ans receiving his bachelors degree.

The rest of our lessons include salvation, prayer, reading your bibles and sharing your faith.

MISSIONETTES CREATE A POTATO NIGHT - February 22 2013

   We have never seen so many potatoes in one place! Wow! Our Missionette girls had a blast making their potatoes into characters and boy, were they ever creative! From a Jesus potato to Angry Birds to a duck these creative potatoes made up the Missionettes Create a Potato Night 2013.
Pastor Dave shared a brief devotional, Shelton the Shark came dressed up as a potato and awards were given out for creativity, originality and overall best. Bottom line...it was a fun night!!

SUPER SUNDAY 2013 - February 3 2013

    
   The Super Bowl was played 4 weeks ago and we all know the Baltimore Ravens won the game. They hoisted the Lombardi trophy after the game and had a parade to celebrate their championship. I however forgot to post on this report on our blog. I'm only 4 weeks late!!

   Anyways, the morning before the Super Bowl our children's ministry had a fun event we call Super Sunday! This was our 5th annual program! During 8:30 am, 10:30 am and 12:30 pm our kids were treated to games, puppets, Grandpa Lou, object lessons and a video bible lesson on Team Jesus...his 12 disciples who were all different and all had different talents yet they all worked together.

   We also quizzed the kids after each teaching and gave out Super Sunday footballs as they exited to go home. Next year, we will make it a point to blog this earlier!!!

BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR JESUS 2012

  
   What a great morning we had at our annual Birthday Party for Jesus on Saturday, December 22nd. Well over 100 kids packed our cafeteria and enjoyed a morning of breakfast, Grandpa Lou, a visit from the Grinch who stole various Christmas items and games. The best part of the morning for the kids was an opportunity to go on the castle bounces, obstacle course and slide we had available in the gym. All of the kids who came had a blast!
