RESURRECTION CELEBRATION - April 24, 2011

During our Resurrection Sunday services at SGT, our children's ministry hosted the annual Resurrection Celebration at 8:30 am, 10:30 am & 12:30 pm in the gym. Over 150 children combined between the three sevices enjoyed a craft, object lessons, Grandpa Lou, puppet characters Myron, Rocky Bambino & Denny the Donkey and a chalk talk by Nicole Rotondi who shared a salvation message by using a drawing and paints. The event ended by a brief message by Pastor Dave and an altar call. Thanks to all who helped out and who were a part of this great event!

PRESCHOOL EASTER EGG HUNT - April 16 2011

On Saturday, April 16th, our children's ministry added a new program to our already busy yearly schedule. At 10:00 am that morning we hosted our first ever Easter Egg Hunt just for preschoolers. 35 three to five year olds lined up at the registration table and were then escorted to the Day Care area to color. Once everyone arrived, they all lined up at the starting line and the search began. Each child looked for the color egg of their team. After snacks were given out, everyone was escorted to the auditorium for a brief program featuring a story and 2 of Pastor Dave's puppets....Sonkist and Shelton the Shark. We look forward to our next Easter Egg Hunt for preschoolers which will take place on Saturday, March 31, 2012!

SUPER SUNDAY - February 6 2011

The morning before the big Super Bowl game before the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers, the children's ministry hosted our own Super Sunday in our Fellowship Center. During the 8:30 am, 10:15 am & 12:15 pm services, well over 150 children enjoyed the thrill of entering our "stadium" complete with goal posts, a field and seats. Our teachers taught some awesome object lessons and our bible lesson was on the bible's biggest underdog...David, who defeated Goliath the giant. We ended our time together with "The Super Bowl of Trivia." As the kids exited, they were given a Super Sunday football. The Referee was yours truly Pastor Dave (who only called one penalty all morning for excessive talking).

Before you know it, football season will be starting again and we will be planning Super Sunday 2012...which is February 5, 2012!!

THANKSLIVING SERVICE - November 21 2010

One Sunday before the Thanksgiving holiday, our Kidz for Christ ministry celebrated Thanksliving...no that's not a typo. We celebrated the fact that when you have life in Christ, you celebrate life every day. We have SO much to be thankful for!

Each object lesson taught was all about being thankful. The story of the 10 Lepers was our bible story tha challenged our kids to always be thankful. The event started with our kids making thanksgiving magnets. We concluded the day with a game of BIBLELAND...a huge game board that was in the middle of our gym. this game is similar to the popular board game Candyland.

It was a great day of ministry and we all left being thankful for all that we have!

FALL FUN FEST 2010

Our Fall Fun Fest was a HUGE success! Our Fellowship Center was filled with excited kids, parents and grandparents! Big inflatable rides filled the Fellowship Center, our games were in the conference rooms. Each partiipant had the opportunity to win candy as prizes. Face painting and God's Little Princess were also a big hit as well as each door prize that was handed out. Our busy evening ended with SLIME TIME LIVE - our children's ministry game show where kids had to get questions right in order to get slimed. The smiles on each child's face was priceless as they exited the "Slime Booth" covered in green slime. Pastor Dave had the honor and privilege of dumping slime all over each contestant!

2011 will be here before you know it and we look forward to Fall Fun Fest once again on October 31st. 2011 will be year 20 for this event!!!

MISSIONS CAMP 2010 - August 9 - 11

Well over 100 children attended our 7th annual Missions Camp which ran during the morning hours of August 9 through 11. This year our camp hosted 4 countries - Puerto Rico, Israel, Belgium and Iran. Our campers learned about the culture from these countries as well as the language spoken. They also rotated throughout the morning by learning drama, puppets and playing International Games such as Cricket, European Handball and Japanese tag. In morning sessions, we had various missionaries share with our campers. Our 3 days concluded with an awesome Closing program featuring our campers doing puppet songs, drama and speaking the native tongue of each country.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL - Son Quest Rainforest - July 19 - 23

What a great week we had at our annual Vacation Bible school. Out theme for 2010 was Son Quest Rainforest. Close to 300 kids filled our classrooms and sanctuary each day hearing the daily bible lesson, learning scripture memory verses and listening intently to our puppet friends as well as the Bible Bib Baby and Tiki the Toucan. Our week eneded on a high note with our Closing program as each student sang their hearts out to the delight of every parent and grandparent who attended. Thanks for coming everyone!!
